Serving the Sunset and surrounding area for over 45 years, Janise’s Supermarket is your community grocer, formally Sunset Community Store. As such we are dedicated to our small-town community and loyal area-wide customers. With this goal in mind, we want to continue our commitment to providing excellent service, fresh food, quality cuts of meat and low prices.
We have had many requests over the years to provide our out-of-town customers the ability to order their favorite cajun-style specialty meats. We always listen to our customers and as a result, you now have the option to order these favorites which include stuffed cuts, sausage and… yes, our famous boudin, online to be shipped right to your door.

HISTORY
Dwayne Janise and Lori Janise Labbe grew up in the supermarket business. Their parents, Larry and Jean Janise operated the Sunset Community store for twenty-seven years. Following their parent’s retirement in 2001, Dori & Dwayne Janise and Lori & Kevin Labbe purchased the store. They changed its name to Janise’s Supermarket to recognize and pay tribute to their family’s (and their parent’s) continued commitment and support to the local and surrounding area.
In 2004, the brother and sister team took the next step and initiated a new era for Janise’s Supermarket. Building a new, larger outlet, which more than doubled the size of their original location, the owners expanded their service and product offerings to their community. By the end of 2004, they were open and serving the customers in “style”. Excited to reward the community’s support by building and investing in the Sunset area, Dwayne says, “With the support we have received in the past from this community, we were pleased to make this additional investment to show our customers just how much their business means to us.”
Expanding the bakery/deli, specialty meat and frozen food areas, as well as allowing for increased parking and easy access, the business continues to thrive as a retailer of choice for the community and surrounding area. They have continued the store’s tradition of excellent customer service, choice selection, and great values. As a result, the community has responded with continued repeat business.
